Amy was my private lesson teacher for seven years. Over that time, she provided constant guidance so that I consistently excelled in my local bands programs as well as region competitions. She also encouraged my pursuit of the drum major position of my high school marching bands. Amy is a patient teacher, and always pushed me to meet my goals. Having recitals for her studio helped to build my confidence when performing in front of others. I would not have become the French horn player I was without having her as a mentor.

I took private horn lessons from Mrs. Thomas for over five years and had an awesome experience. Mrs. Thomas is a patient, supportive teacher who knows how to push her students to be the best they can. She helped me advance at horn each year and develop a deep appreciation for music that still lives in me today. It was awesome being her student for so long because she was able to really challenge me which helped me get results I was proud of, each year advancing further than the previous. My favorite part of being her student was the recital she conducted each year where all her students would perform solos or duets in front of a crowd of family and friends, and she would perform alongside us. She also helped me sort through college and was an important factor in my decision to be in the Longhorn Band at UT. She impacted me in more ways than just on the horn. I highly recommend working with Mrs. Thomas.
